ADDINGTON MARKET. EASING IN VALUES. [PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, October 28. Large entries in the main fat stock sections was a feature of the Addington market, to-day, and there was a general easing in values. Fat sheep, fat cattle, and spring lambs recorded declines. Store Sheep: A fair-sized entry, including hoggets, and ewes and lambs principally. Steady sale, with no alteration in prices, as compared with late rates. Values were: Good s.mewes and lambs to 11/9, sound and failing mouth ewes and lambs 8/- to 9/-, aged ewes and lambs 3/6 to 6/6, ordinary two and four-tooth halfbred ewes (dry) to 11/7, good half-bred ewe hoggets to 16/-, ordinary three-quarter bred ewe hoggets to 11/-, good wether hoggets to 12/2, good wether hoggets (shorn) to 12/2, ordinary wether hoggets to 9/-, young forward wethers (shorn) 9/- to 11/4. Spring lambs: An entry of 577, the smallest for some weeks. The quality was excellent. There was a general easing of 1/- to 1/6 a head, and the average price per lb was about 7d to 7 1 d. 4 Fat Sheep: An entry of 4300. A dull sale, the easing for both classes amounting to 1/- to 1/6 per head on the average. Extra prime heavy wethers to 23/4, prime heavy 18/6 to 22/6, medium 15/- to 18/-, light 11/9 to 14/6, show ewes 27/10, extra prime heavy ewes to 21/4, prime 15/- to 17/-, medium 11/6 to 14/6, light 9/- to 11/-. Fat Cattle: An entry of 455 head, the largest for a long period. A few head came forward from the North Island and large consignments from Otago. The quality on the average was good. The market was irregular, with a general easing of £1 a head on the average, and the demand was very weak over the concluding stages of the auction. Best beef made from 26/- to 30/- per lOOlbs, the latter figure being made only by a small proportion of the primeet beef. Good medium prime 22/- to 25/-, heavy to 24/-, ordinary 20/- to 23/-, inferior 17/6 to 20/-, rough down to 13/-. Values were: —Extra prime heavy steers to £l5/7/6, prime heavy £ll to £l3, prime medium weight £B/15/to £9/15/-, ordinary quality £6 to £B/10/-, light £4/5/- to £5/15/-, extra prime heifers to £l3/7/6, prime £B/10/- to £ll, medium £5/15/- to £7/15/-, light £4 to £5/10/-, extra prime cows to £ll/2/6, prime £7 10/- to £lO, medium £5 to £7, light £3/5/-to £4/15/Fat Pigs: A smaller entry, with baconers in short supply. There was A fair demand, especially for porkers. Values were:— Choppers £3 to £5 3/6, baconers 47/6 to 55/6, heavy baconers £3 to £3/7/6, average price per lb 5d to s&d, porkers 38/- to 41/6; heavy porkers 42/6 to 46/6, average price per lb 6d to 7d. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. SYDNEY, October 28. At the wool sales offerings were 11,638 bales, of which 11,065 bales were sold, also 1,280 bales privately. Japan, Yorkshire, and the Continent provided very strong competition. All the best features of the recent sales were reproduced, the market showing a hardening tendency.
