CYPRUS REVOLT
FURTHER FATAL RIOTS. [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYBIGHT.] LONDON, October 27. Reinforcements from Egypt arrived at Cyprus this morning and hurried to Limassol, where the mob attacked and burnt the police station, and also destroyed the property of loyalists. The situation is now tense in many districts. Further rioting has occurred in Famagusta. The police there fired, killing one person and wounding three. Numerous arrests have been made, including a Communist leader, who was urging the overthrow of the British. MOB ATTACKS SOLDIERS. LONDON, October 27. A message from Nicosia states that three were killed and several wounded in fighting at Kyrenia, when the mob attacked the soldiers. A priest attempted to pull down the Union Jack from the Commissioner’s residence.
