TEDDY BALDOCK
EX-CHAMPION TO RETIRE. LONDON, September 9. Teddy Baldock, the fornler bantamweight champion, announces that, following his defeat at the hands of Dick Corbett on Monday night, he intends to retire from the ring, and will in future devote himself to business. Baldock is only 25. "I have had enough of the game, said Baldock in an interview. “Eleveh years is a good innings; arid I have learned my lesson. I can’t expect to go oh for ever. Last night at Clapton against Corbett 1 had no fire, no pep; I shall never be the same iigairi. “The game is not worth the candle wheh you can’t give Of yoiib best. I have had four bonds takeii out df.my nose, and for two and a half years I have not been able to use iny left hand properly. 1 waift to get but while I can walk and talk and look decent.”
