It is reported on good authority, states the Wellington “Post,” that the motor service firms operating between Napier and Gisborne have entered into an agreement which may end the fierce competition which has existed for some time. During the past seven years nearly a dozen firms have gon© bankrupt or into liquidation on this route, and it is estimated that the capital losses during the period must have reached, close on £lOO,OOO. In that time approximately 200,000 through passengers have been carried on this road, upon which basis the capital loss per passenger carried’ would' be 10/-. An amicable basis of agreement has been arrived at which will eliminate certain unnecessary running of ears. Christmas Greeting Cards, Calendars, and Fancy Leather Articles.
