Sev- ' oral Swale Dale sheep were taken to the factory at Batley early in the morning, and, Yorkshire men performed the ; shearing. The fleeces were then washed, dyed, dried, blended, carded, spun, woven, milled, shrunk, and cropped. The cloth was .motored to Leeds, where the cutting and tailoring were completed in 37J minutes in the presence of Lady Campbell, and amidst cheers for the workers. It is revealed that the previous American record of 6 hours 4 minutes was made in 1898 by an immigrant from Bradford.
