CROQUET. The. annual general meeting of the Makqra Croquet Club was held yesterday, Mrs Thomas presiding. The finances of the cltfb proved to be in a sound state and the past season was most' successful. The following officers were elected 'for the ensuing year:—Captain, Mrs W. Thomas (re-elected); Vice-Captain, Mrs D. Tennent (re-elected).; Secretary, Mrs L. Mercer (re-elected); Treasurer, Mrs Allan Smith; Committee, Megdames D. McKay, F. Whibley, E. Warnes and W. Phillips with officers ex-officio. It was decided to form a social committee and the following ladies were elected: Mesdames C. Haglun<|, J. Robertson, Hogg, Tomlinson and Coburn. A vote of thanks to the secretary and treasurer and outgoing committee was passed. Mrs Thomas presented the trophies won during the year. Championship Singles, Mrs L. Mercer; Championship Doubles, Mrs D. Tennent and Mrs Allan Smith; Handicap Doubles, Mrs F. Davies and Mrs W. Thomas; Shallcrass Bowl, Mrs L. Mercer; Peace Bowl, Mrs, F. Whibley; Mrs Warnes’ Trophy, Mrs F. Davies; Mrs Mercer’s Trophy, Mrs W. Thomas;. Yankee Tournament (junior division), Mrs J. Robertson; Haqdicap junior division, Mrs J. Robgrtsdn. BOWLING A special general meeting of the Nelson Bowling Club was held to consider the opening of the green during the winter months. On the motion being put there was only eight supporters. Between 40 and 50 members were present. During this week V. Vitetta played his final game in the senior championship and won this, appropriating the title of the club’s senioi champion for the season.
