'QUAKE BRICKWORK
{TO THE EDITOB.] Sir,—I read with interest the article in the “Star” on May 5, on vertical iron reinforcements for earthquake chimneys, introduced by a bricklayer of Hastings. By what I read it corresponds with drawings sent to Wellington by a Greymouth brick-makei’ 18 months ago, also bricks and reinforcements .could be used in construction of any brick buildings. It would be interesting to know how the Hastings bricklayer gets along with Wellington, because the Greymouth brick-makei has nothing settled yet. Yours etc., BRICK-MAKER.
