MISSIONARY MEMORIAL
UNVEILING AT APIA [BY CABLE PRESS ASSN. COPYRIGHT.] APIA, May 7. An impressive ceremony took place at nine o’clock this morning in the presence of several thousand London Missionary Society’s adherents, when was unveiled on the Beach Parade, by a native, Pastor Alesana, a twelve foot high granite memorial stone to the pioneer missionary, John Williams, who over a hundred years ago introduced Christianity in Samoa. The huge gathering was. addressed by Administrator Hart, the church president, Mr. Bartlett, Rev. Mr. Perkins, High Chief Tuimalealufano, and native pastors. Many large wreaths were laid at the foot of the stone.
