Owing chiefly to the factx that this was an experimental service oyer ground totally unfamiliar to the pilols, ( ' the mishap and delay at Koepang, and the shipping connections, the air mail, only equalled the tinie via the San Francisco route, althdiigh there .might have been a saving of time on letters posted along the air route.
