HOMELAND BUDGET
TAXATION INCREASE FORECAST. [BY CABLE—PBESS ASSN.—COPYBIGHT.] LONDON, April 22. There is unusual speculation current regarding Mr Snowden’s • eight hundred million sterling budget, which is to be presented ,on Monday. The “Daily Herald” says that only land taxation can be regarded as a certainty. Increases in the taxes on petrol, tobacco, liquor, and also super taxes are mentioned, but these are pure speculations. Even Mr Snowden’s most important colleagues remain in ignorance until the Budge 1 : is disclosed at a Cabinet meeting to be held before his speech in the House of Commons.
