OPERA HOUSE TO-NIGHT A double star attraction will be presented at the Opera House to-night. The first all talking picture to be screened is “The Unholy Night,” a thrilling detective mystery. Under cover of a London fog four men are mysteriously killed, and a fifth barely escapes with his life. From this start ensue a series of such thrilling happenings as you’ve rarely gasped at. The other star production is a hilarious comedy, “Barnum Was Right.” i A double star silent programme will be ssen at the Sunday night picture benefit, the pictures being “Vanity” and “The Rush Hour.” MONDAY NIGHT Six hundred gorgeous costumes were produced by the wardrobe department of the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios in less than a month for “The Hollywood Revue,” by a force of 150 seamstresses. The task of outfitting the principals and chorus of this huge musical and talking extravaganza, which will open at the Opera House on Monday night, was assigned to the wardrobe department. The extravaganza brings together the largest cast of stars ever assembled for a motion picture, including Marion Davies, John Gilbert, Norma Shearer, Conrad Nagel, Bessie Love, Anita Page, J'oan Crawford, William Haines, Gwen Lee, Karl Dane, George K. Arthur, Buster Keaton, Polly. Moran, Jack Benny, Marie Dressier, Charles King, “Ukelele Ike” (Cliff Edwards), Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, the Brox Sisters, Gus Edwards, Natacha Nattova, the Albertina Rasche ballet, the Rounders and many others. NURSES’ DANCE Verandahs, lounge and stairways at the Nurses’ Home made a very artistic picture to greet the guests at a dance last evening. Flowers, palms, ferns, streamers, lights and balloons in all colours had all been cleverly arranged and the general effect was wonderful. In the dance room the decorations were similar and radio music provided an enjoyable programme. More decorations up the stairs showed the way to a sitting-room where a dainty supper was served, under still more coloured lights and streamers.
