OPERA HOUSE TO-NIGHT. Owing to requests from town and country patrons “Sally” will be again presented to-night. WEDNESDAY. “Noqh’s Ark,” tjhe Warner Bros, and Vitaphono production, heralded as having been “made to top any picture ever made,” comes to the Opera House for two nights and matinee Wednesday, commencing at 2.30 p.m. The stupendous production includes more than ten thousand characters. Sets covering more than a square mile were used in the making-—a period of three years. Dolores Costello is starred with George O'Brien. Other prominent members of the cast are Noah Beery, Louise Fazenda. Guinn Williams, Paul McAllister, Nigel tie Brulier, Anders Randolf. Armand Zaliz, Myrna Loy, William V. Mong, Malcolm Waite, Noble Johnson, Otto Hoffman and Joe Bonomo. “Noah’s Ark” portrays life at the ends of the rainbow-span of fifty centuries. The Jovers, whose personalities survive the soul-stirring days of the World War, are transported back to the days preceding the flood. Possibilities of the screen are vindicated as never before by the magnificent sweep of the story—by manifold scenes of tumult —war—slavery human element. Paul McAllister is magnificent as the patriarch, Noah. Th© theme is the changelessness of the heart of humanity—whether in modern life or in the traditional past. Tremendous as is the idea of the play, the human story which runs through it is compelling, intimate and tender. MAWHERA SATURDAY DANCE. A packed house enjoyed another good night’s entertainment at the Mawhera Dance on Saturday night, when the second session of the Fox Trot Championship was held. Those to qualify were Mr andAlrs Crooks of Auckland, and Mr B. Caulton and Miss E. Quinn, of Greymouth. The judging was very close in this heat. Steel’s orchestra supplied excellent music. HOCKEY DANCE.

A dance will be held in the Oddfellows’ Hall to-morow night. Visiting teams from all parts of the Coast will be treated to a complimentary dance. Come along and see the latest novelty dance, the off-side dance. Valuable prizes awarded the winner. Steel's full orchestra will supply the music
