It. is reported from Baris that Senor Villanueva, formerly commercial attache to the Venezuelan Government, and European director of the Nationality Bank of New York, who disappeared after the alleged embezzlement of .9200,0(10, has been discovered serving in the Spanish Foreign Legion in a. training camp near Cueva. Il appears that Villanueva assumed the name Alexander Avial, and enlisted for five years. A friend, suspecting his whereabouts, went to Morocco. and discovered I lie formerly wealthy financier and prominent society man suffering from the beat, hardships, and iron discipline.
As a result, of an interview, the friend is conveying a letter to the French police, in which Villanueva pleads to be extradited, saying that he would rather go to prison than continue in rhe Foreign Legion.
