LEAGUE FOOTBALL

TO-MORROW’S GAMES. The final of the senior knock-out competition, to be fought between Marist and Runanga, should attract a largo crowd to Wingham Park to-mor-row. It seems safe to say that in their expectations of a clever and hardfought contest the spectators will not bo disappointed. By their decisive victories over Nelson Creek and Brunner in their last two games Marist have shown that they are at the top of their form. The forwards have been working well, and the backs are beginning to have an understanding of each other that augurs well for the side’s success. Runanga, as the winners of the senior competition, cannot be regarded as anything but a first-rate team, and the issue is doubtful. Whatever the result, spectators are assured of a good afternoon’s sport. The other senior League game is a Bradshaw Cup fixture between Blackball and Brunner, to be played at Brunner.

The following players will represent Marist fourth grade in its match against. Runanga for the Championship final on Sunday at 1.15 p.m., at AVingham Park:- —D. Greaney, S. Knapp, E. McHugh, A. Aiderton, T. Duffy, T. Olsen, L. Seguin, G. Hay, H. Blanchfield, J. O’Connor, M. Power, M. Kennedy, R. Pollock, E. Gallop, M Powell. The fourth grade representative team to travel to Christchurch will be selected after this game.
