Barry will go- over and ride him in his engagements.

Havering: Ever since his fine form at the Wellington meeting last month Havering has been the outstanding favourite for the Winter Cup. Toxeuma has now advanced to equal favourite with him.

Riding Engagements: At the National meeting on Tuesday, H. Gray will ride Best Friend, Hunting Call and Charmeuse; I. Tilson, Aberfeldy and Star Stranger II.; W. Pascoe, Topere; A. S. Ellis, Double Soult, Membo, Barrington, Gay Fashion; T. Green, Pride, Swiftray; E. Shav, Valves; A. E. Ellis, Toxeuma, Kings Jest, Painkiller; R. Syme, Matu; H. Dulieu, Shipshape. Rigoletto; J. Barry. Nancy Lee; H. Goldfinch, Rational 11., Arikinui, Rasouli V; H. Wiggins, Havering. WORK AT RICCARTON. Yesterday morning most of the horses at Riccarton were restricted to useful pacing on the sand. The tracks are improving with the fine weather being experienced. Full Feather covered a mile in I.K 4-5, Semper Paratus accompanying him over the last six furlongs. Both horses went well. Subdivision and Battle Colours sprinted half a mile up the back in 5! secs.

Pride had Greenaway as a mate for ; a half mile spin in 51 2-ssecs. Kapuna galloped twice round at a strong pace. He covered the last seven furlongs of the first round in 1.43 and ran over the same ground the next time in 1.43 2-5. The Wingatui horse has got through a lot of work since his arrival at Riccarton and he looks well. West Dome was given strong pace work on the sand.

King’s Jest did easy work on the sand, moving in scratchy style. Mountain Guide was kept to half pace work on the sand. ( Radiac went twice round the sand at

a sound pace. .He is in great order. Troilus ran the last four of six furlongs in 53 l-ssec. Mister Gamp went once round, taking 1.51 for the last mile. He went very. well. Llyn Dhu (A. McDonald) jumped four hurdles in good style, going at a solid pace. After Ten (L. Evans) was held back to Gold Mint (D. O’Connor) in a. run over three, hurdles.

Valves jumped four fences. He went at a useful pace and did his work well.

Corneroff (A. McDonald) was sent over six furlongs, and gave a bold exhibition of fast jumping.

Airforce (A. McDonald) went over four hurdles at a sound pace and went well all the way.

Thurnia (E. Shaw) gave a good exhibition of jumping over two hurdles. Exide galloped seven furlongs, taking 56 3-ssec. for the last half-mile. Nancy Lee occupied 1.7 for five furlongs and did it well. A large number of the horses got through useful tasks.
