SHIPPING NOTES.
Shipping movements were held up again to-day, owing to the state of the bar. The depth at high water on Thursday was 19ft. 2ins„ but was two feet less at high water yesterday, andonly 16ft. at high water to-day. The prevailing weather conditions are blamed for the rapid shoaling of the bar. The depth is about 18 inches less than the usual amount. The spring tides will reach their maximum on Monday, and will be very poor. The Gabriella, Kanna, Kaituna and Kamona will sail when the bar permits.
Tno Kaponga is due this evening from Auckland, to load coal and timber for Miramar and Wellington. ■ The Kiwitea left Timaru at 5 p.m. yesterday for Greymouth direct, and is due to-morrow night. She will load coal for Auckland. .
The Kaimai left Gisborne at 5.30 a.m. yesterday for Greymouth, and is due tomorrow, to load for Wellington and Napier. Tho Alexander ■ is due on Monday night from Wellington, via Westport. After discharge she will load coal and timber for' Nelson. The Titoki will leave Wellington on Tuesday for Nelson, Westport and Groymouth with general cargo, and is due hero on Thursday night. She will load coal for Onakaka, and is expected to sail next Friday night. The Regulus will leave. Nelson on Monday for Westport and Greymouth, and is duo on Tuesday night. She will load coal for Nelson and Wanganui.
