CENTENARY OBSERVANCE. [official wieeless.] RUGBY, July 22. Cardinal Bourne conducted a “Te Deum” at Westminster Cathedral today on the occasion of the centenary of Belgian independence. King George was represented by Lord Granard. The Belgian Ambassador to Britain and his staff were present. The Prime Minister, Mr Ramsay MacDonald, to-day sent to the Belgian Prime Minister the following telegram:—“On the occasion of the celebration of the hundredth anniversary of the' Independence of Belgium, I send Your Excellency a message of friendly goodwill on behalf of His Majesty’s Government in the United Kingdom. The people of this country, who have shared Belgium’s sorrows, wish also to share in her joys, and I am confident that I interpret the feelings of all classes of the British public when I beg Your Excellency to accept our heartiest good wishes for the continued happiness and prosperity of your great country.”
