The “News of the World” offers a valuable trophy for a handicap billiard tourney between Lindrum, MeConachy, or Davis and Newman, on condition that the potting of the white ends the striker’s break, and gives the non-striker the option of re-spotting the balls, and continuing where he left. The paper says: This would end the unsporting potting of the white and double-baulking when the striker finds he has made a bad shot.
