It will be recalled that details of her predicament, when the deck cargo had to be jettisoned, were transmitted from Apia on May 17.

Safe blowers entered a bank, furniture shop, and shipping office m the city, the hauls totalling £B4O. The bank strongroom and safe were blown, and so great was the force of the explosion that pieces of the safe door were found embedded in the countei 12 feet away.

There was an interesting development hero following tho announcement from Christchurch that Robert Cape Williamson, a. local dentist, claimed to be the only survivilng blood relative, and second .cousin, o. the late Peer whose estate is believed to be worth between thirty and forty millions. Tho “Sydney Morning Herald’’ located and interviewed Henry Cape Williamson, of Cremornc, Sydney, who claims, to be a first cousin of Lord Ashton. He said: “Lord Ashton’s father, James Williamson, and my father, George Williamson, were brothers. I can scarcely believe that Lord Ashton died without a will. His daughter Lila married Lord Teel. I resided in New Zealand for many years, and was assistant to a number of prominent medical men.”
