Mr. Mitchell, of the Blackball Coal Company’s office staff, who has been on a visit here, returned to Christchurch on Thursday. Misses M. and J. Clark and Miss G. The half-yearly installation of officers of the Druid’s Lijdge took place in the lodgeroom last evening. Visitors present were: Bros. Niven, Ivey, Dobson, Evans, Baird, Walker, Mitchell and Switzer, Reefton, and P.A. Bro. Patterson, P. A. Bro. Tennent, A. D. Bro. Paterson, P. A. Bro. Condon and Bro. Smith, Star of the West Lodge. Bro. W. Mitchell ,Reefton. was installed as District President by Bro. C. Hogg. D. P. Bro. Mitchell then installed the following officers: A.D.: Bro. W. Hogg; . V.A.: Bro. R. Smith; 8r0..W. Goodall, Treasurer reelected, and Bro. C. Hogg, Secretary re-elected; A.D.B’s.: Bros. D. Neilson and H. Lowe; V.A.Bs: Bros. N. Smith and A. McNicol. The Lodge then adjourned in harmony and the following toasts were honoured: The King and the Order, Grand Lodge, responded to by Bro. Hogg with his P.D.P’s collar and diploma, and Bro. A. Cairns with his his P.A. collar and diploma, both brothers suitably replying.
