PLUNKET BALL
A SUCCESSFUL GATHERING.
The large number of onlookers in the Town Hall gallery last evening showed the attraction of the Pluuke Ball in former years and the still larger number dancing carried the Society's record for successful dances a further stage. It was not until a late hour that the crowd in the gallery thinned out and certainly there was plenty for them to admn e in tio pretty frocks, most of which were in the new season’s style of ankle-length which looked very graceful m the movement of the dances Decorations were very dainty, and the oiange and blue shades of entwined streamers and Chinese lanterns were exceedingly effective. The Plunket waitingroom was used as a supper-room, and the fare provided, if anything, surpassed the Committee’s usual high standard. All the. latest music was sunnlied bv Restieaux s Orchestra.
