FULHAM BY-ELECTION
CONSERVATIVES REGAIN SEAT

LONDON, May 6. , ..The first election fought on the question of Empire Free Trade ends to-day with the Fulham polling. The result is not expected till late to-night. The Conservative candidate, Sir C. Cobb has made a determined effort to regain the seat, which he had held through four general elections, until he was beaten by the deceased Labour member in a three-cornered contest last year. LATBR. . The by-election resulted:— Sir Cyril Cobb (Conservative) 16,223 J. A. Banfield (Labour) l»>»o3 BUDGET PASSED. - LONDON, May 7. In the Commons, after, an acrimonious debate, the Budget resolutions were carried and the Finance Bill was read a first time. In one of the numerous divisions the Government majority fell to 30.
