NAVAL ARMAMENTS
U.S.A/S BILLION DOLLAR SCHEME

WASHINGTON, May 6.
Chairman Britten of the House Naval Committee announced to-day that he would introduce a Bill for naval war craft costing a billion dollars which was necessary to bring the American navy on a parity with Britain in ten years.
He said he had confidential figures showing the new construction requirements for ten years called for 73,500 tons six inch cruisers, 150,000 tons destroyers,. 52,700 tons submarines, and sixty-nine thousand tons aircraft carriers.
