MR. RANSOM’S PROMOTION
LABOUR MEMBER’S SURMISE, i [per press association.] HAMILTON, March 30. In a tribute to Mr Ransom, Min- ■ ister of Public Works, at a banquet given him at Raglan, Mr L. E. Martin, Labour M.P. for Raglan, said that Mr Ransom’s physique denoted strength, and his face denoted character. His various addresses throughout the electorate showed that ! Tie possessed vision in connection with the future of the Dominion, and courage to put into operation what he believed would be in the best interests of the community., Mr Martin nrlrlprl that ivhilo hn -vtrna
not of the same 'politics as Mr Ran-' som, he would be glad to give him a very hearty welcome to the Labour Party, and would be very happy at being able to work side by side with him, because the speaker considered the Minister was doing his present job in a. very thorough manner. Mr Martin said that he was sure Mr Ransom was going to leave his mark upon the Dominion,- not only as the Minister of Public Works, but lie thought that the time was coming when higher opportunities would be given him. When that time Wived he was sure Mr Ransom would not let the Dominion down.. (Applause).
