The Grand National Steeplechase at Aintree resulted: — Shaun Goilun 1 Melleray’s Belle 2 Sir Lindsay .. .... .. 3 Forty-one started. Only five completed the course. Won by a neck, with a length and a half between second and third. LATER. The Grand National provided a magnifiicent race. Glanesia was leading until over half-way of the second round, accompanied by Merrivale, Sandyhood and Glakie. Towards the end of the circuit, Melleray’s Belle and Sir Lindsay came up with the leaders, and Shaun Golin got even with him later. Shaun and Melleray’s Belle jumped the last fence together a length ahead, and a terrific race in the straight saw Shaun Goilin gain a narrow victory. Glanesia was fourth. Gregalach pulled up half-way and about twenty fell. STREPHON’S WEIGHT. LONDON, March 28. The Australian horse, Strephon, has been allotted top weight, nine stone, in the Kempton Park Jubilee Handicap.
