GUNMEN’S CHARMING WAYS
HOLD-UP LIKE A PICNIC. Four gunmen entered a. Chicago laundry one night and held up a girl clerk and four drivers. The bandits wished to open the safe, but none of the employees knew the combination. “The manager is the only one who knows, and he has gone home,” the girl clerk told the bandits. “Never mind,” said their leader, “you folks just sit down and make yourselves comfy while two of my boys fetch the manager.” Two men were promptly despatched, found the manager and compelled him to return to the laundry in a car at tho pistol point. They then opened the safe and wore delighted to find about 1000 dollars in it. In a rare good humour, the bandit leader then sent for sandwiches and coffee, and the entire party sat down to . a meal, tlie gunmen keeping their aiitomatics on the table beside them. “Don’t call the cops too soon,” cried the bandits. Then they finally took their departure.
