; SCHOLARS TO LISTEN IN. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 14. Arrangements are in hand to assure . the fullest cooperation between the education authorities and radio dealers throughout the Dominion in connection with the broadcast of Rear-Ad-

miral Byrd’s address to school children from 4 Y.A. on Tuesday afternoon. To-day, a deputation of radio dealers representing the Electrical Federation of the Dominion (radio section), together with the station director of 2Y.A., waited on Mr. A. Bell, Assistant Director of Education, in order to secure Departmental cooperation. As a result, the fullest endorsement was received; and telegrams have been sent from the Department to the Education Boards throughout the Dominion, requesting them to afford the fullest possible facilities for enabling the school children to enjoy this historic talk. Organisation is also in train between the Dealers’ Federation and its various branches throughout the Dominion to facilitate the closest possible link up in connection with the equipping of schools for radio reception.

MESSAGE TO NAVY DUNEDIN, March 14. The following message has been received by Commander Hotham, of H.M.S. Laburnum, from Admiral Byrd, to be forwarded to Commodore Blake, commanding the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy:—“On behalf of the members of our Antarctic expedition, as well as myself, I want to tell you how deeply I appreciate youf kind message of welcome conveyed to me through Commander Hotham, and the unusual courtesy Commander Hotham has extended to us. It has been a great pleasure to come in contact again with His Majesty’s Navy. I regret that your absence from these shores will prevent me from meeting you personally and from exchanging greetings during my visit. I recall with pleasure meeting you in Washington.—Richard Byrd.”
