He fought with Garibaldi, was at Sebastopol, also with Peel’s brigade in the Indian Mutiny, at the relief of Lucknow, and a member of Von Temsky’s Forest Rangers in the Maori War.

The death is announced at/Wellington, of Mr. Henry Ferry, formerly of Hokitika, third son of the late William Perry. Mr. W. Perry, Mr. G. A. Ferry, Mayor of Hokitika, and Mr. Garnet Perry, are brothers of the deceased, while Miss E. Perry, of Hokitika, Mrs Shorland, of Wellington, and Mrs St. George, of Hari Hari, are sisters.
