SYDNEY, December 5. • At the Criminal Court the trial of Alfred Edwards, aged 23, charged with the murder of James .Curran in Gloucester district, concluded. Edwards told the jury he shot Curran in self defence. The jury returned a verdict of not guilty. Edwards was discharged. MATCH FACTORY ABLAZE. 1 SYDNEY, December 6. A spectacular fire at the match factory of Matches of Australia Ltd., at Zetland, caused damage estimated at £lO,OOO. The inflammable contents of the factory made it impossible for the brigades to subdue the flames which destroyed the building with almost incredible rapidity.
