JERSEY ATTACKS HORSEMAN. (Per Press Association.) TE AWAMUTU, December 6. A well-known Pirongia farmer, Thomas Steel, when driving a young Jersey bull to a paddock ' yesterday, was savagely attacked by the animal, and knocked off his horse. The latter was severely gored, while Steel scrambled under a hedge. A lorry driver named Mounsey heard Steel’s cries and drove the lorry at the bull, diverting its attention, while Steel crawled through a hedge. «■ The horse was badly gored, necessi. tating seventeen stitches.
