RAILWAY BOOKING FACILITIES. The Railway Department announces that commencing to-day, it will be possible for intending pasengers to purchase their tickets and reserve seats or sleeping berths at any time prior to the commencement/ of then- journey. Up to the present ‘ these preliminary travel arrangements ’could be made! only during a restricted period of. 14 -days ahead of travel date. The new system will become effective during the period of the issue of Christmas nd New Year holiday excursion tickets, and should prove a helpful factor ..towards, eliminating congestion.
