CRANE-WORKER KILLED. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, November 28. John Swan, aged 45, single, employed by Anderson’s Ltd., at Lyttelton, was killed this morning through coming into contact with a live wire, when working on a crane. HEART FAILURE. DUNEDIN, December 1. An inquest was held on Saturday on the body of Albert Jacob Turnbull, of North-east Valley, who died under an anaesthetic at the Dunedin Hospital on Friday. The Coroner found that death was due to heart failure whilst -adium treatment was being administered, and that every care was taken by the hospital authorities. KILLED BY CAR. DUNEDIN, December 1. Stanley Omond, aged 19 years, telephone exchange clerk at Roxburgh, while returning home from his duties at 1.30 a.m. on Saturday, was. knocked down by a motor car. He was brought to Dunedin Hospital, suffering from a compound fracture of the right leg and severe shock. The young man died at 9.45 the same evening. An inquest was opened and was adjourned to Roxburgh. ' • _ MAGISTRATE’S SON SHOT. CHRISTCHURCH, November 30. Keith Miller, aged 17 years, a High School boy, the son of Mr J. Miller, Stipendiary Magistrate, w-as found dead in the school grounds this morning, with a bullet wound in the head and a revolver alongside. He had been of a nervous disposition. YOUNG MIGRANT POISONED. CHRISTCHURCH, November 30. Richard Daniel Duder, aged 17, a recent arrival from England, and a student at Lincoln College, died yesterday evening from the effects of poisoning. At the inquest, which was adjourned the Principal of the College stated that Duder had said that he was sick of life and sick of the country. His parents live in Sussex.
