A sensation has been aroused by the dismissal of Professor Sergei Oldenburg, who for a quarter of a century, has been the secretary to the Leningrad Academy of Sciences. He is accused of concealing documents revealing the personal activities of the late Tsar’s secret police, also the Tsar’s decree of abdication, and the Grand Duke Michael’s renunciatfon. The two last-named documents had been hitherto believed to be lost. It is assumed that Dr. Oldenburg is suspected of trying to shield Tsarists. BRITISH AMBASSADOR. LONDON, November 7.
