Miss Edna Woods left for Christ church on Thursday.
A small cottage situated in the Arahura Valley, owned by Mr W. Olderog, and occupied by Messrs Honey and McMahon, who are engaged prospecting in the vicinity, was, together with the whole of the contents, totally destroyed by fire on Wednesday last, during the tempdfary absence of the men. There is said to be an insurance cover of £3O on the building. The cause of the fire is unknown.
One opossum trapper operating at the head of the okl Kawaka race is said to have already secured over 1000 skins.
Mr and Mrs Duff-Fyfe are expected to arrive by the express from Wellington to-day.
