WEST COAST CHAMPIONSHIPS. To-morrow evening, at the Town Hall, the West Coast boxing championships will be held, commencing at 7.30. Splendid nominations have been received, and with the talent competing a good night’s sport should be witnessed. There will be at least twenty bouts, which should provide a varied and thrilling programme. The team for the New Zealand championship will bo selected after to-morrow night’s contests. Patrons may, therefore, be sure of seeing the competitors at their best to-morrow night. ' ) Prices are reasonable, and all trains have been delayed to allow country patrons to witness the tournament. LECKIE’S ENGAGEMENTS. DUNEDIN, August 2. The Otago Boxing Assn, is officially advised that Johnny Leckie sails for Wellington per the Ulimaroa from Sydney to-day, accompanied by Mr Kilmartin, and Sammy Shack, the American featherweight. Probably Leckie will meet either Delaney or Shack here -in a few weeks.
