GREYMOUTH POULTRY CLUB

' ANNUAL SHOW The Greymouth Poultry, Pigeon, Canary and Cat Club’s annual show was opened in the Drill Hall this afternoon by the Mayor, (Mr. J. W. Greenslade). The show will be continued this evening and tomorrow afternoon and evening. In every respect the Show is the finest yet held by the Club. Entries total over 150 more than last year’s, constituting an easy record. The game class is the largest ever exhibited in the Coast, entries totalling 75. The Sussex class is good and the open classes altogether have drawn 175 entries. The bantams, constitute an excellent class of 60 entries, and 85 pigeons are on show. In the utility section Leghorns drew big entries, and Minorcas and Black Orpingtons are rei presented. Shade Island Red classes are well filled and ducks have drawn the largest number of entries, of any of the Club’s shows. Cat classes will be entered and judged tomorrow. Canaries offex* a biggei’ class than usual. Beautifully coloured Old English birds, the best breeds of game fowl, dignified pigeons, and a fine assortment of other birds should interest the public as well as the specialist.
