Mr W. Spender left this morning for Christchurch, on holiday.

Mr and Mrs W. Hill will return to Greymouth by to-day’s express.

Mr C. Mahn, of Christchurch, who has been visiting the Coast, returned this morning.

Sub-Inspector P. J. McCarthy expects to leave on Monday, on his return to Auckland.

Constable T. Flewellen, of Greymouth, is an inmate of the Grey Hos pital.

Mr Cyril Kilgour, of Auckland, who has been visiting Greymouth, returned by this morning’s express.

Rev. Father Kilgour, of Rangiora, who has been visiting Greymouth, returned this morning.

Mrs A.Torrance, and Miss J. Torrance will return from Dunedin by today’s express.

Mr A. Settle, who has .been visiting Greymouth, returned to Heathcote by to-day’s express.

Mr R. Crawley, Signal Instructor, New Zealand Railways, who has been visiting Greymouth, returned to Christchurch by to-day’s express.

Mr Alex Hunter has been appointed employers’ representative on the Board of Managers of the Westport Technical High School.

Messrs F. C. Hay croft, and C. L. Green, who have been attending the Westport, Hokitika, and Greymouth Fire Boards’ meetings, returned this morning to Christchurch.

The death is announced of Mr Alexander Thomson, of Nelson, one of the pioneer settlers of Murchison, taking a prominent part in the public life of the district. —Press Assn.

A Press Association message from Timaru stated that the manager of the Bank of New Zealand at Timaru. Mr D. Standage (formerly of Greymouth), who has been 2G years in the service of the bank, had accepted the position of general manager of the Mt. Cook Motor Company. He will take control of the company’s new chateau at Tongariro in its initial stages.

The wedding took place at St. John’s Church, Westport, on Wednesday, of Lyellerie Elazabeth,. fourth daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Potter, Cape Line, Westport, and Thomas Stanley, only son of Mr and Mrs A. Martin Island Bay, Wellington. The Rev. J. W. Bloyce was the officiating minister. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a graceful frock of embroidered net lace of fawn and an ensemble mariette fawn coat. She wore a hat to tone and carried a beautiful bouquet. Miss Una Potter, sister of the bride, attended as bridesmaid, wearing pale blue crepe de chine, relieved with fawn, blue hat to match, and also carried a bouquet. Mr Roy Palmer, of'Denniston, was best man.
