ALLOCATION OF REVENUE. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, January 26. The Minister of Public Works states that the petrol tax collected for the period, October ,1 to December 31, totalled £206,839 Ils lOd. Mr Ransom explains that after deducting from the total the given amount of refunds, the cost of administration and Customs Departments’ charges for collections, there is a balance of £193,16015s sd, of which sum 92 per cent, £177,707, would be paid to the Main Highways Revenue Fund, while the remaining 8 per cent, representing £15,452, would be available foi* distribution among boroughs and cities, with a population of 6000 and over. On this basis, Wellington, which tops the list, will receive £2,512.
