Mr Archibald Walker, of Wellington, is visiting Greymouth.

Mr and Mrs A. J. Sloss left this morning on a visit to Wellington;

Mr M’lntosh-Murray will arrive at Greymouth this afternoon, to join the literary staff of the “Star.”

Miss A. Pratt, who has been visiting Auckland and Christchurch, will return this afternoon.

Miss R. Downes, Mataura, who has been the guest of Mrs Shrimpton, High Street, returned to-day.

Mr and Mrs Alfred Sullivan (Christchurch), are among the visitors to Greymouth.

Mr W. Russell-Wood, of Auckland, has been appointed adjudicator in elocution at the Christchurch Competitions Society’s festival in May.

Passengers on this morning’s express for Christchurch included Mrs M. Henderson, Mr C. C. Davis, Miss Cullen, and Mr Con. Hall.

Mr and Mrs E. Cressey (senr.), and their daughter, Miss M. Cressey, of Blaketown, left this morning for a tour of the North Island.

Professor Charles Weatherburn Professor of Mathematics at Canterbury College, has been appointed Professor of Mathematics at the University of Western Australia.

Mrs James T. Wright of Leithfield (Canterbury), who has been spending a holiday as the guest of Mr and Mrs G. Ashby, Kilgour Road, returned this morning.

Mr and Mrs Pritchie (Wellington) have arrived in Greymouth to take their permanent residence. Mr Pritchie has joined the staff as manager of the furniture department of S. Burnett White.

The death occurred in the Buller Hospital on Wednesday of Mr Ernest Janies King, of Karamea. Deceased, who was 63 years of age, was born at Flaxton, Canterbury. For some time he resided at Millerton, later removing to Karamea. where he was engaged in farming. He leaves a Widow and two sons.
