KUMARA FIRE

NEW SHOP DESTROYED.

(Special to "Star.")

KUMARA, January 26.

At a quarter to seven this morning the fire bell sounded the alarm, when it was discovered that the new shop, recently erected and occupied by S. M. Case, was on fire. When the outbreak was first noticed the fire had obtained a good hold, for although there was a good water supply, the place was completely destroyed, and the bulk of stock destroyed. How the fire ■ originated is not known. This is the second time within a year that Mr Case has been burned out. The insurances, if any, are not available.
