(Recd. Oct. 13, 9.57 a.m.) LONDON, October 12. Sir James Parr (New Zealand High Commissioner) made a successful visit to Liverpool, where he was the guest of the Mersey Harbour Board at lunc'heon, at. which he met fifty leading business men. The Lady Mayoress (Miss Beaven) said that Liverpool wanted more New Zealand produce, but it was essential that there should be regularity of shipments.

The President of the Cbrn Exchange later made the* same plea, pointing out that there would be a considerable saving in freight if New Zealand used Liverpool as the distributing centre for a great and popular area. Sir James Parr, in reply, declared that much depended on the extent to which New Zealand goods were sold in the shops.' He would thoroughly investigate the matter and report to his Government. New Zealand was keen to find markets, .especially for dairy produce, the exports of which had increased by 33 per cent in twelve months.
