TUNNEY’S BRIDE
“MOBBED” AT NAPLES A COSTLY TROUSSEAU (Australian Press Association.) (By Cable—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Received October 3, 1.30 p.m.) NAPLES, October 2. The arrival of Tunney’s fifty-mil-lion-dollar-heiress-fiancee, Josephine Lauder, caused a mild sensation at Naples. Tunney, upon whose heels was a group of pursuing American journalists and photographers bounded up the gangway, and an affectionate meeting of the lovers followed. An hour later they attempted to leave the vessel, but drew back when they sighted a huge crowd, which they attempted to avoid by leaving: by the steerage gangway. The bride’s trousseau includes forty-eight evening frocks, a hundred pairs of gloves, twenty-five pairs of shoes, a £2OOO mink coat, lingerie valued at £l5O, and a diamond head dress valued at £BOO. The couple reached home to-night in the strictest secrecy. The wedding is understood to be to-morrow.
