Flynn and Gringos and Voano respectively. The damage is £20,000. EIGHT-HOURS DAY. SYDNEY, October 1. The eight-hour day procession through the city streets to the show ground was witnessed by large crowds to-day. The procession lacked the size and enthusiasm of former years, many unions not participating. “DE PROFUNDIS.” MELBOURNE, October 1. At the Catholic Children’s Pageant at the Exhibition Hall, Melbourne, today, Archbishop Mannix recited the “De Profundis” for the repose of the souls of the victims in,-the Geelong level crossing accident. More than 13,000 people were kneeling while the prayer was being recited. TEACHER SHOT. SYDNEY, October 2. At the inquiry held into the shooting of Mulholland, Muriel Mulholland, the widow, gave evidence that there had been ill-feeling between them for the last year, owing to the husband's attentions to a certain girl. Witness also admitted that she was friendly with a man named Summers, who visited the house practically every day. The Coroner, after hearing Andrew - Summers’ version, returned a verdict of murder by a gunshot wound, against some person unknown.
