The death occurred in Wellington on Wednesday night of Mrs E. Graham, wife of Captain Graham, of the Titoki. The late Mrs Graham had been ill for some time. She was a sisterof Mrs Simpson, wife of Captain Simpson, of Westport, and leaves two sons and two daughters.

At yesterday afternoon’s meeting of the Greymouth Jockey Club, the Chairman (Mr. T. E. Coates) took the opportunity of extending a welcome to Mr W. JR. Kettle whose health had not been the best for some time past. Mr Kettle had told him he thought he should give up the treasureship of the club. He (the speaker) was sure no one in the club could give the satisfaction, as the Club’s Treasurer, which Mr. Kettle had given. Mr. Kettle thanked Mr. Coates and the meeting for the kind sentiments expressed. He would do his best for the club, and was quite willing to pay his quota of any loss the club made at any time.
