WEDDING

DUTHIE—KELLY. At St. John’s Church, Latimer Square (Christchurch), on Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. J. F. Coursey officiated at the marriage of Sylvia Maud, eldest 'daughter of Mr and Mrs J. F. Kelly, Hereford Street, to Robert, second son of Mr and Mrs Robert Duthie, of Wainoni. The bride wore 1 an attractive frock of ivory georgette over satin. It was designed with senii- ' fitting bodice' finished with long sleeves, the skirt showing a deep uneven hem of delicate lace. A coronet of orange blossoms was worn with her soft embroidered veil and colour was introduced in her toilet, by relieving touches of pink in her white -shower bouquet. She was given away by her brother, Mr C. Kelly. Her sister, Miss Violet Kelly, attended her as maid in a dainty frock of pale jade georgette, with flared skirt, relieved, with small insets of ecru lace. Her hat of pale pink straw, was trimmed with a posy to tone. Pink and apricot flowers mingled in her bouquet. The* duties of best man were undertaken by Mr Gordon Boldt, of Napier. Guests were later entertained at Dixieland, where the bride’s mother received, them. She wore a frock of navy blue crepe de chine trimmed with beige, her navy hat having an upstanding mount finished with vivid flowers, varicoloured flowers composed her bouquet. The bridegroom’s mother had chosen a frock of saxe blue crepe de chine, relieved with putty crepe de chine with hat en suite, her bouquet being in harmonious varicolouring. The newly-married couple left later in the evening for the North, the bride wearing a three piece suit of rose and fawn jersey cloth, and a hat to tone, her fur-trimmed coat being of cedar brown face cloth.
