WEST COAST TOURNAMENT.

The West Coast Golf Championships tournament was continued yesterday afternoon.

The first medal handicap of the Golf Tournament was won by Father Quinn and the second by A. K. Smith. The mixed foursomes played resulted in a win for Miss Coates and Pratt. In the final of the men’s championship, Park was one up on Sime at the 18th hole. The match will be finished to-day. MEN’S FINAL. A fair gallery accompanied the players and were treated to an exhibition of excellent golf. The first hole was halved in 5, both players being short with the approach. At the next Sime was on the green with his tee shot. Park was short to the left, but put his short approach about 4 feet from the pin. Sime overran the hole and laid a half stymie, which Park negotiated with a good putt. Halved in 3. The next two holes were halved in 4 and 3 respectively, bloth playing steady golf. Going to Ribbonwood, Park sliced his drive slightly, but approached dead on the pin. Sime left himself a G foot putt, which he missed. Park holed for 3 and was 1 up. Both played the next hole badly and Sime won in 5. All square. Coming backto Tipperary the gallery was given a treat. Both got on with their third shots and Park putted up about a foot from the hole. Sime’s putt stayed right on the edge of the hole laying Park a dead stymie. Park holed out with the niblick amid applause from the crowd. Halved in 5. Sime won the Hawthorn with a 4, but Park squared the match again at the ninth with, a well played 4. They turned all square, but Sime let himself in for trouble at the Burn, putting his second in the bunker. He was nicely out with the niblick, but Park won the hole with a 4. Park one up. Park should have won the Crossing, as Sime was short in the bunker, and Park on the green with the tee shot. Sime got out well with a crash shot, but overran the hole about 12 feet with the approach. He holed this 12 foot putt, and Park missed, leaving himself a 5 foot putt, which he missed again. Halved in 4. Sime again let himself in for trouble by topping his second at the next, and Park won with a well played 4. Park 2 up. Sime again turned on a sensation at the Terrace hole, as lie holed out from about 10 feet outside of the green for a three. Park 1 up. The next was halved in 4, and Park again lost a chance at Omoto, duffing his second into the bunker. Sime won in four with another putt from the edge of the green, about 15 feet. All square. Sime missed a fairly easy 4 foot putt at the next, and Park won with a 4. Park 1 up. Both played the next well, but Park’s 18in. putt hit the side of the tin and jumped out. Halved in 5. The 18th was a good hole. Sime got a great drive almost to the green. Park sliced into the bunker, but got out on to the green with a good niblick shot. Sime had a bad lie and was short with the approach. Both missed a long putt and halved in 4. Park It up. The match was very interesting and the final 18 holes to-day should produce some good golf.
