At Delaware Watergap, Pennsylvania, Compston, playing brilliant golf, captured the Eastern Open Championship with a total of 287. Aubrey Boomer was placed fifth with a total of 293. Compston was severely censured by the Committee and the onlookers for causing a needless two hours’ delay of the finals.
