THEFT BY COUPLE

LONDON, May 12

Elhcl Mary Ansell, 20, a general servant of Newcross Road, Stoughton, near Guildford, and Harry x Charles Evans, 22, a milk roundsman, of no homo, pleaded guilty, at Woking, yesterday, to being concerned together in the theft of clothing and crockery belonging to the girl’s employer, Major Francis Savage, of Worplesdon. ft was stated that, when charged, Ansell said she took the things because she was thinking of gettingmarried. Evans said they were upset at the time and hardly knew what they were doing. They were going to run away and get married.

Tiie police-superintendent said that Evans, whose home was at Stratford, had been four months unemployed, and the girl had kept him in the coal shed at her employer’s house. She had been draged down, by Evans, and was in delicate health.
