PURSUANT to the Coal-mines Act, 1925, the undersigned ROBERT MARSHALL, MURRAY FOWLER, SAMUEL PERRY and ROBERT SHORT, all of Twelve Mile; WILLIAM PAGE, JAMES O’DONNELL JOHN DREW, of Runanga, and DANIEL McAULEY, of Greymouth, all coal-miners, hereby apply fc/r a coal lease in respect of the following land: —All that piece of land situated in Block 11., Te Miko Survey District, containing 16 acres 3 roods (more or less), bounded as follow: — Commencing at the north eastern corner of Coal Lease No. 109/25, running thence easterly 8.1 chains on a bearing of 91 deg. 15min.; thence southerly 20.3 chains on a bearing of 358 deg. 15min.; thence westerly 8.35 chains on a bearing of SSdeg. 45min.; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of the said Coal Lease No. 109/25 20.6 chains on a bearing 359 deg., to the commencing point as shown on the locality plan filed herewith. Area applied for: 16 acres 3 roods. Th said land is Greymouth Harbour Board Coal Reserve. Mark on Pegs: “V.” Date of marking out: June IG, 1928, at 4.45 p.m. Has the applicant any interest in any other coal lease or coal-prospecting license? If so, give full particulars of such interest, together with.,the. registered number and date of the lease or license: Yes. Coal Lease No. 109/25, dated 23/9/25, held by the said Robert Marshall, William Page and Daniel McAuley. If the area applied for adjoins an area held under a coal lease or coalprospecting license, give the name of the lessee or licensee, together with, the registered number and date of such lease or license: Adjoins areas under application as a coal lease to James Matthew Dennehy, and as a coal prospecting license by Charles McKechnio. State the approximate quantity of coal which may bo reasonably extracted from the area in respect of which a lease is applied for: 50,000 tons.

State the estimated cost of developing the area, including the necessary plant, equipment, and buildings required for such purpose: £2OO (worked in conjunction with Coal Lease 109/25). State whether or not sufficient finance has been arranged to develop the area, as a coal-mine, together with the required plant, equipment, and buildings: ’ Yes.
