Further definite confirmation of the intention of Captain Kingsford Smith and C. T. P. Ulm to fly to New Zealand was contained in a letter received this morning from the aviators by Mr P. R. Clintie, organiser for the Canterbury Progress League, the letter was as follows.—

“Captain Kingsford Smith and myself thank you for your congratulations, but. at present we are not. in a position to be able to state definitely what our plans are regarding the New Zealand flight. On one thing you may rest assured, it will be our next objective, but regarding the itinerary, we are unable to commit ourselves. Wishing your folk all the best.” The letter was signed by Captain Kingsford Smith and Ulm.
